Took the day off work yesterday to MOT, tax and insure the bike for another year and was embarrassed, but not surprised to find that I'd done the sum total of 365 miles on it last year

Mind you, I hadn't ridden it since August (I think) and it fired first time. Not even a stutter.

    Good old Honda.

365 miles! That’s a criminal offence mate haha.

Saying that, I have no idea of your schedule, work, commitments etc.

Hopefully the new season brings more time spent on the bike for you :)

I refuse to let my missus see how few miles I've done in the last year. I had a valid excuse the previous year, but I think I did even fewer in the last one. Gonna need to get my head right over it this year or find a new hobby, I think.

saying that if i done ten days on the bike last year i'd be surprised.... but i tend to make the most of it when i do, average day is prob 250 miles...

Exactly right mate, and although the bike don't owe me nothing other than service and MOT, the grin it gives me when I open the garage door isn't quite enough on its own to warrant it. The last few years of decreasing mileage has been creating the occasional thought of hanging my boots up, but I think this years needs to be piss or get off the pot.

Well you know you're my guru James, so as soon as the waters recede, I'll take your advice.

I'd like to make out like I had some legitimate excuse for not riding but I was gardening and playing golf when the weather was nice :D

Yeah my other half mentioned that I'd have to get out on it more this year or sell it. I just shot her a dirty look like she'd be better off minding her own business :D

The whole bang shoot only cost me £225.00 yesterday. At that price I don't mind.

A few of my mates who ride all said they barely touched the bike last year, Jimbo. Funny I don't really remember it being a crap year, weather-wise

Nooooo don't even think about it  there's no hobby more fun in the world than m/c's & I'm sure you'd regret it. Pop On Any Sunday into your dvd & let Steve McQ & Co bump your enthusiasm up till biking weather arrives :)

Hmmm... Haven't watched that DVD in a while...

Probably best not to compare southern California with the wind blown swamp that I currently am living in though...

On the subject of your location, Ken. I was reading something the other day about the geology of the UK (I know.....how interesting am I?? :D) and didn't realise that there's a geological feature which links your house to my house.

Ahh, sad git that I am, I am aware of the Tees Exe line. Can remember covering it in geography at school all those years ago. The house I grew up in was on a filament of slate that was considered one of the tertiary boundaries of it. We used to play in the slate quarries and my old man could never get a spade into his vegetable patch when it was dry.

I live now right on the west bank of the Exe estuary, so technically the older, higher side, but unless it stops raining soon, I doubt that'll help.

It's just occurred to me that I probably added about 15 miles of that warming the bike up before taking it for its MOT :D
