Hello all, I currently have a Street Triple and really like the fireblade and was planning to buy one this last year either nearly new or new ive seen good deals on new. thing is that I know that this is the 4th year for this fireblade and was wondering if anyone knows if a new one will come out next year or later this year for the shows etc as they normally do later on in the year... Or will they look at upping the price to the silly levels of £13k like the bimmer etc? Can get a brand new blade for £9k now. I would be gutted if I bought a new one then a few weeks later a new one is announced though ....

I wouldn't count it out, but I Doubt it very much, more like a few chassis/supension mods and tweaked motor! Poss slight restyle. If I were in market, I would not be waiting for the new one, as you rightly point out there are some awesome deals to be had. Craig may know a little more than me about possible mods on next years bike too!
I hope they will do something, like you say the electronics (I think) will be the big thing over then next 12 months. They at least need to add TC to bring it in line with the top dogs. Many new buyers will want these things and will go elsewhere if Big H don't think about.
Traction control on a road bike??? Really??? Have you ever got off a bike and though 'I really would benefit from a T/C system' The 2011 'Blade is the 4th year of this current style of bike, and from previous trends, Honda will possibly have a re-styled bike for 2012. We've all heard the rumours of a road going V4 sports bike from Honda, but I doubt it'll be a fireblade, maybe a 1200cc V4 sports bike using the VFR motor, but a bit more power (remember the SP-1/SP-2, they ran alonside the Fireblade range) For me, I'd personally wait and see what happens over the next few months. It's still a bit early to know if there's going to be a new bike launched for 2012. One thing I do know though, I'll still be keeping the RR6.
what you have to remember is, once one bling bling invention is released, everyone wants/expects it. a few things. if honda do have a v4 superbike in the pipeline, it wont be 1200cc, it will be 1000cc for homologation purposes the current development restriction between the japanese 4 state its now a 3 year gap between new model launches, as the agreement was signed in 2010 dont expect to see a new blade announced before summer 2012 for a winter 2012 release. either way, the blade doesnt need 200+bhp, with 185 genuine rear wheel BHP the blade would have enough grunt to not get dropped by the bigger bikes in a straight line, and through the twisty stuff it will remain the best bike due to the best chassis in class.
Yes. Not because I'm a road racer, but because of the piece of mind and safety aspect. I have spun the rear a few times in the wet. TC would have stopped that. I have wanted to pin it at the lights in the wet and do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds (just because I could!). TC would allow that. I currently have ABS and I know that if a car pulls out of me in the wet I stand more chance of stopping without locking up the front (reaction). I'm not good enough to judge when the tyre is going to let go in poor conditions and not everyone is (otherwise there would be far less low/highsides in the biking community). A computer is and is much quicker than me on a cold and frost morning!
Really? That would be a 5 years cycle would it not? 08, 09, 10, 11, thats 4 full years, then end 2012 is 5 years with the current blade?
