As my kids are getting older their toys are getting bigger and more of them so my man cave has become less of my area and more of a dumping ground for everyone's shite with a letter box opening for my bike to slide in!
So I'm building a little Worksop area and storage for the crap to make the place more mine again, still a work in progress, have some wall cabinets etc to go on yet and a big tool box to slot in there yet

Looks great Martin. Liking the bottle of beer on the go on the work surface, you can't spend time in the man cave without the compulsory beer in your hand and radio on the go.

    Lol!

You'll be fine matey as long as you don't go plugging in too much load for too long!

    (Boring Bit!)

The first and original socket on that pic is part of a 'Ring Circuit' (most prob) and is fused at 30/32 amps.
2.5mm T/E cable which is used in the pic and is pretty much standard fare for domestic socket circuits starts to melt at prolonged periods of load much above 24amps which can lead Fire and fecked cabling.

It's only allowed to be used on a Ring Circuit because the load is split roughly equally round the circuit so no part of the cable is subjected to the max loading of 32A.

When you've added (spurred) off the original socket you've now created a 'radial' circuit off a 'Ring circuit'
One of these is OK and permitted within the Regs as the load cannot exceed one sockets worth.

In your case you have multiple sockets on this spurred radial which thus lead to 'Meltdown' should you or others plug in Heaters etc.

A radial circuit should be fused at 20A max

    Here endeth the Sermon!

Extension lead will not overload and melt as it's got a 13A Fuse in the Plug Top.

Keep ém coming Martin as i'm moving house in a couple of months and will be looking for ideas for a black canvas.
I'll be looking to do up a single attached breeze block garage. Luckily mine has the consumer unit for the house, so I'll probably get a ring for the garage added. And if the wife gets her way with a new kitchen (which she probably will) then I'll have the old units for the garage.

Exactly what's happened here, she gets a new kitchen I get the old one to play with

Sinewave my fuse box is in the garage, my sockets start from there, does that make it ok or is that worse? lol
