2006 major service

    Last year I got my 2006 blade serviced and was told it's next 1 would be a major 1 last year's was plugs oil filter new oil and 2 new air filters (didn't know it had 2) so this year what different will they do and what sort of cost am I looking at the bike has done 11k miles

    The major service includes valve clearance checks which are due every 16000 miles. You'll be looking at around £400 I would expect.

    With a ten year old bike I would service it or have it serviced to the level that I would want rather than stick, slavishly, to the service manual.
    If there are no issues and it's running ok I would just do a normal service, oil, filters, lube etc. If you've got issues with it get these sorted. The majority of a service is simple to do and a dealer will make you pay through the nose for it.
    Just my opinion.

    Thanks for this ye always keep them serviced and looked after no problems(touching wood) so will look at the standard service
