Most exhausts claim they are compatible with standard fuelling although mine altered the characteristics of power delivery I lost slightly on low revs but got loads more mid & high range and an awesome tune to boot! A PCV and custom maps has released the beast with or without the insert (db killer) but she run fine without a PCV as long as the insert was fitted Also Al Fagan from Fastbikes claims heat soak from stock exhaust/cat damages the rear shock! Some bikes have the cat incorporated in the headers but the Blade has it in the stock end can but it's a personal thing I feel the stock exhaust is to quiet and saps power
You shouldn't get any problems mate, just fit a new end can and remove the cable from the doofa in the tail. i did mine in about 30 mins (mostly spent twisting it and swearing trying to get it to line up). No faults at all, im not aware of anyone having issues.
I haven't done that much modding to mine, certainly not performance related anyway. Yoshimura Engine Sliders Yoshimura Bar Ends Yoshimura Tail Tidy Yoshimura Cotton Reels Yoshimura End Can Yoshimura Engine Oil Cap Pazzo levers Zero Gravity Corsa Dark Screen Genuine Honda Seat Cowl Genuine Honda Carbon Hugger Genuine Honda Cushion Seat R&G Radiator Grill R&G Downpipe Grill Think that's it.
Didn't plan to spend much on mine when I bought it back in 2014 with its Taylormade and braided lines on the front. Then I started looking around and have spent a pretty penny on it with more in the pipelines. The list so far: Taylormade exhaust and carbon shield Braided lines front and rear Sato street hooks ASV short levers Bazzaz QS, TC and fuel management Saxon seat cover SP seat cowl (currently in for respray from HRC white to Winning Red) Radiator guard 12+ wheels Honda carbon front mudguard Honda carbon rear hugger Dark smoked headlight covers R&G tail tidy Private plate: ..321 GO.. Honda dark smoked screen Titanium bolts throughout Left to go on: Lightech R rearsets Lightech chain adjusters and lifters Brembo SP Monoblock front calipers Brembo RCS19 master cylinder Black engine cases And maybe switch the Taylormade out for a Racefit Growler
Not sure any blade is as Honda intended. It's always stifled by price and legislation. So lightweight decat can it is then. And crash bungs. And hid conversion. Screen and tail tidy in due course.
I don't tend to do performance mods, more to protect the bike and make things more comfortable for myself... R & G crash bungs R & G paddock stand bobbins Oxford heated grips + the all essential heated jacket lead R & G tail tidy Power bronze hugger R & G Rad guard The HRC seat and cowl came already on it. I like Bling to be subtle...
Unless, you're with an Insurance Company who have a standard 'given' list of mods you don't need to tell em about, as they know bikers will change those bits anyway. One modification, I'd like to do to mine, is remove the pillion pegs. But having seen what has to come apart, I'll leave em in place. Too much aggro for little reward. To agree with the others, Modding your bike, is a purely personal choice. Some slip on cans look awful, and some look sexy, but there is plenty of choice, so take your time and pick your choices, as with everything. Happy Modding
I would avoid the Taylor made exhaust! The fairing panel looks nice but the actual exhaust build quality is lacking, the racefit has great build quality and the weight savings are fantastic 1kg compared to 6kg for standard silencer
Yeah the guy who owned it before me bought the Taylormade and re riveted it himself (he is a machinist by trade so repairing it was easy). I like how it looks but I think I prefer how the RaceFit sounds so all depends how funds go with buying a house and wedding on the horizon
Fitted Mivv exhaust, tinted screen and seat cowl. Going to remove the rear pegs, fit a tail tidy and black levers and i think that'll be it
Just a carbon hugger and I have disconnected hte lambda sensor, which is a good mod in my opinion. I did make a pipe for it with a pipe bender and local manufacturer. We were going to do a commercial run of them but we only made 4 in the end, which all sold to happy (crazy!) customers. It was too loud for me, even though it did look great and did gain up to 3 bhp through the range. But any straight through pipe would have. This is it (with the dyno doors shut).
And the dyno reading, just the pipe and lambda disconnected. no remap. You can see the step gain up to 4k after disconnecting the sensor.
I went to town on my 09 but in retrospect plenty of it was just modding for the sake of it and a bit of a waste Essentials, in order, with the new bike have been Revalved and resprung suspension front and rear Puig double bubble screen Techspec tank grips Heated grips Vortex rearsets - in gp shift Full akropovic system Bmc filter Bazzaz traction, fuel control and quick shift Asv shorty levers Motion pro quick action throttle.
