Has anyone ran these on the road ? EBC GPFAX im needing to replace the pads on mine and im looking to get more performance for fast road and track riding over the standard stuff it says there not for road use but there not the hardcore race pads, and at pace on the road im in need of extra bite.
There on a buy one get one free so they seem good value as well

SBS dual sintered is what you need, look for the street excel! Don't get the carbon ones unless your just doing trackdays! Far better than OE pads, amazing performance, great feel and warm up and about half the price of some Brembo Zo4's...

Just spoke to the Kawasaki dealer today and they seem to think all the super stock lads are on standard pads but at £90 a go I actually would rather take the chance and spend a little more on a more uprated pad

There bound to say that! You seriously won't need anything better for fast road/track day pads! and about half the price of OE pads! You will have a big improvement

There's a few folk on the forum giving these SBS pads good reviews now so I'm going to try them this year. Found them on eBay for £37 delivered:)

+1 on the SBS race sinter pads, got them on my track bike and will soon be replacing my road pads with a set too. About £43 on the bay for a full front set.

Do you think the race pads will work well on the road? with the operating temp being so high

There not full on race pads so no issues, race pads are normally dual carbon and require a lot of heat to work at there full potential, the pads you need are called Street Excel dual sintered, don't be fooled into buying full on race pads for fast road and trackdays, not unless your proper hardcore!!

Just found this on there page kinda does not make sense the "street" pad HS has a use up to track days and the RS is fast road track days

    choise_of_compound_street_655x381.jpg

But the image below is the RS (Racing sinter)

    dia_rs.png

and this is HS pad how can it out perform the "Racing" pad in every way??

    dia_hs.png

On paper the bast set is the RS because its a fast road tack pad,

are the street excel the HS pads?

Yeh pretty sure they are, I'm now running Brembo ZO4's on my setup... Brembo GP4 RX but haven't tested them yet, but will definitely be swapping them out to the Street Excels as soon as!

I've never used them on the road so difficult to know how they'd work. They're great on track but different level of braking involved. Having looked at the info in this thread I'll be getting the street excel pads.

    Great thread and comments! :)

A bit of an update, took a while since my laptop stopped working.

The street excel pads are mega quite an improvement over the standard pads, price wise its unbelievable the standard ones cost so much needless to say ill be sticking with them SBS rock, initial bite is stronger as well as the over all stopping power I massively recommend them to anyone
