Just seen that WD40 make a chain wax as well as a wet lube. The wax seems to spray on as a coat and then dry around the chain. I am a big fan of Wurst Dry Chain Lube. Was just wondering how this new product compares, if anybody has tried it?
I tried the WD40 wax this winter it seemed ok but then I had to have a replacement link in my fairly new gold chain & I wondered if the wax was fully penetrating thru so I've stopped using it. It does seem to just sit on the outside & thats with applying & leaving overnight!
No idea on the WD wax but I've used other chain wax in the past and it's just really sticky - flings when warm and gummed up my clutch slave cylinder on old SV. Poor design on that bike granted but went back to lube and no issues since. I like Muc-off but potato tomato.
I've tried the wd40 when my local dealer stopped stocking Wurth Dry. I didn't like it at all, considering it was anti fling it flung everywhere. I will stick with Wurth, a far superior chain lube in my opinion.

As Lozzy said its so thick it doesnt 'spread' well so doesnt cover the chain completely or has a chance to lube the rings see this in comparison to SDOC
I know it's going to the competitor ( ) but I prefer Yamalube chain lube from most Yam dealers. Absolutely superb lube with virtually no fling if left overnight.
You all know I like pics!!!! Did a bit of a clean recently, with a bit of this.... A fiver from Wilkos Most of the can later and a good coat of Yamalube got it looking like this... A new sprocket (+2 )and some anodise nuts saw it look like this.. A bit better!
tried WD chain lube during jan & feb and I think it is rubbish. It first coats the chain with a nicw shiny looking lube which makes the chain very good to look at but: provided not rust protection whatsoever flew around a bit got black and gooey after 100 miles made the gearchange worse SO: I went back to wurth dry chain lube (again and again). It is light lube and thin so you need to apply it more often but boy what a superior product
