is there a how to remove the gearbox on here. if there isnt, can anyone give me the basics. for example, remove clutch, remove gearbox. but with the main things to look out for.
it's quite easy as it's a cassette box. basically. drop oil-to make life easier remove clutch cover remove clutch, starter gears, clutch basket, this can be a little fiddly as you need to line up with a flat spot on the crank. then remove the gear box, from memory it's just 4 bolts.be carefull not to let it fall apart as can be fiddly putting back together
As scooby says, there is something to watch for on re-assembly but can't remember, think its a locating dowel or something similar, i remember having to have a couple of goes at re locating the gears on one a few years ago.
it's the starter gears that can be tricky to get back in place as the little shaft locates into the engine side case but wobbles around a bit.
ahh just realised you have the 06/7 box, with regard to my spare box,it's for an 08- so don't think it will be any use, unless the gears are the same on both boxes.
thanx dan. your right , there are a shedfull and cheap as. do you know how much shipping would be, as i have never bought from usa before

The dearer one looks better to me, make them a ceeky offer, if the price comes down the import duty shown should come down too
bought this one dude. was £139 inc shipping. if its a good box, which they have assured me, i think mega bargain compared to the 2 on ebay uk, both at 4 to 500 pounds each
