well until now I have never used wax on a bike, but now the suns out and weathers improving, thinking of seeing how deep and lustruous i can get my black blade after I've done the usual shampoo, rinse and dry routine

went to buy some wax and some seems to say avoid plastics...does this include bike fairings or is it for the 4 wheel goons to avoid their shitty bumpers and rubber door seals?

any recommendations for something that will do tank n plastics before i shell out £20 on the wrong product?

Collinite 915. Once you've applied it lasts longer than pretty much every other wax on the market.

Yep, got various waxes, but have Collnite 915 for wheels, vans any colours and is so hard wearing, in all weathers, so makes it perfect for the bikes too.

    And cheap and lasts ages

On my black blade I used Autoglym ultra deep shine. It's for dark or black colours.
On very dark colours the secret is to polish as per the wind flow NOT round in circles as this leaves swirl marks

I should have also said don't get too precious about it, it's a bike, a thing, it's there for using.
As John Green said " people are here to be loved, things are here to be used. The problem with the world is things get loved and people get used".
Just my (and John Greens') opinion.

I put Nanolex coating on areas that get dirty like wheels and calipers before a coat of wax to help protect them.

I use mequiars cleaner wax, nice shine and it smells very sweet, like youre in a candy store LOL
Use it on most parts off the bike, for the black plastic parts I use some spray called plastic shine.
