ok , had venture shield put on the bike 2 days ago. Picked the new bike up today noticed 2 small bubbles in the venture shield near the seat. Don't know if it's possible to work them out to the edge of the film. Or if solution is to remove the film piece completely & have it replaced ? Also how cab venture shield be removed by myself safely ? Any help greatly appreciated. Steve
I'll give the hairdryer a go, don't wanna get paint too warm tho. If it don't work how can I remove it ?
I thought pin pricking would eventually lead to water getting under the film if I get drenched while out one day or washing the bike
Nah, it'll be fine. Anyway it'll have gone grey and manky at the edges long before it fails elsewhere. Didn't bother with it it on the latest purchases as it was staring to look tatty on the outgoing ZX10 which was only a 64 Plate with 2200 miles on the clock.
If the bubbles are near an edge you could try warming it with an hairdryer and using the edge of a credit card to try and ease them out.
Lol panic over guys , it's done the trick with hairdryer and a rubber pad to move to the edge. I will now get some sleep tonight.
Had mine on for over 2k miles now, still looks like the day it was applied. I tend to use a spray on detailer wax when cleaning (mostly water anyway !) as it doesn't get trapped under the edges like a normal wax. You can use any products though really if you need to.
Just got to fit the hugger Graeme . Had a chaotic day today. Managed to fit me asv levers and 8x6 number plate. Shop fitted the akrapovic gp can. Just hoping the Carbon hrc hugger fits ok and there is room for the abs cable, or won't be able to send back to jersey. It'll end up on flee bay .
