So anyone who has had a dealer do their first service, How much did it cost? I booked for the 5th March to get the blade 1st year service done. I know they say every 4k or 6 month but as I only did 4k in the past year. So have opted for once a year service. Fowlers quoted £270 for a 12 month or 8k service I just asked for the 6 month or 4k service. will this be ok? and £270 seems a shed load for 1 year service. my Speed triple was about £140 for a first service and the 3 year biggy was going to be £300 before I part ex'ed it
Sod that it might be expensive mate but the bikes a cracker and won't be trading it. I can see me keeping it when I do come to replace the bike in 2-3 years as a track bike.
I'm sure I payed £120 for the run in service and then £180 for the next service. It shouldn't be any more than that. If so I'd try another dealer.
Do it yourself and save a wedge of cash! I had my first service done free ( 600 miles) and have had 2 other oil changes inc filter, and 3 brake fluid changes... just the cost of oil, filter and brake fluids. Will be doing another oil change in spring, no filter though, and just had some crush washers delivered for the sump bolt...35p each.
justt phoned George Whites who said £139! quite a difference to fowlers! re rang fowlers and they just told me again £254 coming down but that does not include sundries FFS I gather thats Oil etc...
the chap told me " wonder how GW can do it that cheap" after I told him the difference in price. Feck it I will give JHS local to me who did the 600 mile service a ring tomorrow and see what they can do also
It's only an oil and filter change and general check that all bolts are still tight. Your only paying for the stamp in the book to be honest.
Jt's motorcycles ( the ex Honda dealer I bought my bike from ) Had a winter deal On that standard services where £99.00 I think 120 to 140 is about right thou Loads cheaper to do it your self but personally I fell its worth it just for the service stamp when it comes time to trade the bike in
agreed and while it's in warranty why I want to get the stamp. JHS will be cheaper than GW and I know they do a good service. I may next year attempt the oil and filter myself. Again regarding my maintenance thread it would be good practice for me/
