Sorry meant 9x7, I got nicked for a 7x5 but it did get through the MOT with the 7x5????
But as r1monkey says it depends on the format and the letters/numbers contained on your reg. as per gov guide link

I have 7x5 and have done on my previous bikes. Never been stopped or challenged about it, I dont ride like a tw@t but i don't hang about either ;)
Always swap it over to the standard size for the MOT, just incase the tester gets into trouble

I was doing 20 mph through town over speed bumps and got pulled !!! maybe he was having a really boring day. He then proceeded to compliment me on my bike and asked a thousand and one questions about it's performance. All the answers were theoretical answers of course;)
