What are peoples views on this years Championship, now Josh Brookes has jumped ship, after winning it last year, just like Lowes did in 2013 Do we think that Shane Byrne will romp it home, now that the grid is filled with younger riders coming in from other series?? I'm a solid follower and travel to watch them, but looking at things this year, I can't get excited about it.
i think leon haslam, hopper or luke mossy as an outside bet. just his inexperience might show up on occasions. i guess it will be the man who plays the showdown sytem to his best advantage. but never discount shakey. i guess this means i dont really know, but as always it will be great to watch.
Not a bad shout, hopper will hopefully do a similar thing to Brooke's and be stronger as the season goes on.
I'm looking forward to it. Think it'll be a close battle at the front. There's a lot of talent on the grid, always close exciting racing and a lot of young guys coming up through the ranks to challenge the more 'senior' guys. BSB has been a production line of guys going to WSB. That's got to say something about how competitive the series is.
I'd agree with that, but I think that Shakey is going to run away with it again. I'd love for Kio to be up there, but he is so hit n miss.
Kiyo is a strange one. Super talented rider no doubt, but goes from one extreme to the other for no apparent reason. Would love to see him back on form and challenging up the front. I'm sure Haslam will be a big threat to Shakey this year!
Hopefully Kyo will be in the mix. Hoping the Hondas will do well - Dan Linfoot should be in with a shout if Honda Racing UK get the same level of support from HRC as Ten Kate are getting in WSBK.
I'd love to see Jenny up there too. Shame it comes down to funding. But, it could be a half decent season this year.
I've a lot of respect for Jenny and no doubt she's a v quick rider. Met her at a BSB meet a few years ago when she was on her own private Honda. But part of me still feels its a PR stunt by Honda.
I'd like to see Leon take the title this year just to mix it up and stop Shakey grabbing yet another tittle (why won't he step back up to WSB again?)
I'm guessing the same reason that Rossi stays in MotoGP........he's still pretty quick and wants to try n leave as big a legacy behind as he can in terms of times he's been crowned champ! Less long haul travelling commitments within bsb series than wsb!
If Ellison can stay injury free and finally have some good luck without crashing he's right in there. Hopper too imho Shakey may suffer with the Ducati on slower tracks as Chaz Davies has commented that that's the Duke's weak point and there are quite a few tight tracks on the BSB calender. Haslam is top shout for me at taking the title. Jenny T gets as much support as the other 2 riders, bottom line is I'm a big fan of hers and have been on track with her a few times and she's very quick at normal levels but will never be near the front here. She's not getting any younger either and I feel there will be to much pressure on Honda to give up & coming talent that seat rather than give her another year.
Thats true. I didn't realise though, that even Shakey hs to pay PB each year to 'buy' his seat. Also, if you look at how the BSB Champs have faired away from the series, they haven't set the world on fire. Look at Michael Laverty, I'm a huge fan of his, and he went to MotoGP and has returned. This is why Byrne probably stays in England. I hope Haslam has a good start to the year, as well as Dan Linfoot too.
My money is on James Ellison, had a good chat with his brother Dean the other day and his fired up for it...
Fingers crossed, as he gave it a good shot in 2014, and had Shakey worried for a bit. Shame he crashed badly mid season. BTW....Love the quotes in your sig.
Haslam will walk it. Shakey, Ellison, Hoppo and a few others battling for a close second. Buchan will stop crashing and start being lightning quick and Ripsoli will do okay in his rookie year. Jenny T will unfortunately be at the back fighting just to make the cut off time but I'd love to see her further up the field.
Great racing from Silverstone, brilliant - Shakey had a lucky escape on the last corner - all a bit sideways ! Chit chat was good, racing top class. Divided loyalties about who I want to win though - so many likeable characters in with a fighting chance.
