Everyone will probably have their own ideas ! personally for standing, the Ramshoek, but be careful of getting in the way of long lenses ! Seating, did not enjoy the far end of Ossebroken. This year will be Winterdijk Stand - (booked in mid-December) Loved the way they come round this corner at the Ramshoek - lovely to watch - here during practice. We watched the race from Winterdijk last year, great view of the bikes entering the last complex just before the final chicane. Perfect view of Rossi and Marquez coming together too! Thursday and Friday just get general admission and have a mooch around - end of straight for some quali is a good spot to watch them braking hard, Strubben and Ossebroeken round the first complex, Ruskenhoek is a grassy slope where they enter from flat out into a fast right/left kink. Geert Timmer is a great grandstand, next to Winterdijk and right opposite the final chicane, but books up fast. You'll love it though, Assen is great. Make sure you go out into Assen town on Friday and Saturday night too...!
We have just booked again for 5th straight year. We use the TT tribune. Good tip if not camping is to get hotel somewhere like Zwolle, Groningen or Utretch and get train to and from Assen. We do this. Afte race into Assen for the fun and then train home to hotel about 10.30.
Then you can also use the free bus service from Assen Train Station, to the circuit - wafts passed all the traffic in a bus lane and gets waived through by the traffic police, whilst everyone sits in the traffic in their cars
Oh yes good fun that is. Only awkward part is the queue when you arrive at Assen station, but it moves fairly quickly due to the Dutch being so efficient. And their trains are nice, double deckers, not the crap we get in the UK
It's getting close, getting close !! Having to work late and weekends to clear work, in order to go - but worth it !!
Yes, quite a long ride from here. Arrive at the ferry port of St Malo in France, then head round the back of Paris, North towards Maastricht, then Assen. Looking forward to it. You riding over ? saw lots of GB reg bikes last time.
yes we head down on thurs night sleep over, euro tunnel crossing to Calais then Friday ride to groningen....... got Winterdijk Stand tickets so hopefully great race and good weather !!
Because of other commitments we are riding over early Saturday so will miss qualifying. Staying in Utretch which is direct train
