Like most others on here, went out on the bike this morning to blow the cobwebs off in this lovely sunshine.
Didn't go out for long maybe, 20 minutes as I had stuff to do in the garden...must be getting old...

Anyway, got back, got off the bike and as I was taking my helmet off, I looked at the bike gleaming in the sun...and noticed my pillion passenger was missing.

I was horrified and quite upset, as he has put some miles in with me and is named after my dog who died suddenly last year.
But, I thought to myself, don't know where we parted company so is gone.

But then I decided, NO !!, not going abandon him, I will make the effort.
So I put my gear back on, fired up the bike and retraced my journey, though at quite a sedate pace, scouring the tarmac for my little comrade.

After about 5 miles I spotted him, laying forlornly in the gutter, so did a quick turn about stopped and rescued him..

Considering he doesn't wear much in the way of protective gear he was pretty much unscathed, apart from being a bit muddy.
That particular section where he decided to bail was a somewhat quick bit, so I reckon he must have rolled and bounced a bit. but being such a chilled out relaxed type must have helped him escape injury.

Anyway, brought him back home, gave him a hot bath in the kitchen sink, and let him chill out in the warm sun.

So all in all a happy ending, but so nearly wasn't...

He's held on by a cable tie around his legs then through the mesh on the rear cowl, the mesh snapped, I guess it's only very thin aluminium, not designed for retaining little furry passengers..
