Does everyone use a back protector on the road? I've got a Forcefield L2K but it's a hell of a squeeze to get it under the leathers
I had the same problem with the forcefield using 2 piece leathers so switched to the Spidi Defender. It fastens around the rib cage area so doesn't add any bulk at the waist and has the added bonus of a chest protector.
Use the forcefield sportlite with my ixon one piece and dainese G3 with my dainese gear You can't put a price on protection! Forcefield are good because they are reusable if you do have an off, where as some back protectors are only one off use in the case of an accident Have used for over 10 years now and feel odd if I put on a jacket without one in
It's more the issue of finding it difficult to breath when the back protector is under my jacket. It's brand new so it might stretch a bit........either that or find a thinner protector. Having said that the L2K isn't exactly the thickest thing in the world
Never used 1 before until I went on track last year. Went to go out on my road bike the other week there and had to go back in and get the back protector as it felt weird without it on.
Aye I know what you mean. I used to wear one religiously and it did feel weird riding without it in. Then I ended up with a set of leathers that were a little too tight and ended up getting rid. Now it feels like a crush with it in
Always worn my Knox under the 1 piece....until yesterday! Got it out of winter storage & I've put that much timber on I resembled a stuffed sausage Had to go without protector to even get zipped up. Felt nice riding without it but it'll be going back on soon as poss...It doesn't take much of a knock to damage your spine so every bit helps imo
Knox bp worn under Dainese 1 piece, bit of a struggle to get into but definitely wouldn't ride without it .
Always wear a Dainese track vest under my Dainese 2 piece Had an off last year carrying amongst other things a case of champagne in my rucksack. Totally smashed up the wooden case (booze was unharmed!) Imagine if the case smashed up on my spine. Anyway walked away relatively unscathed.
As with the rest of the guys. Never go out without my Forcefield L2K on. Even just running around locally, its on. My leather jacket was a bit tight, so I switched to my textile one, and job done. Now onto the InSanity Programme to shift the winter pounds.
I have level 1 protectors already zipped into my one and two-piece leathers so stick with that for the road. I have an extra level two back protector for the track. Not sure of the name, I think it's one from Lidl but does the job well.
I've just had the jacket on for half an hour with the back protector in (whilst playing Battlefield 4 ) and it's loosened up a bit. I think it all just needs breaking in a bit. Thanks for the replies, lads and lasses.
Does it stop you getting shot in the back in battlefield4,seriously though I use an alpinestars nucleon rr won't leave home without it
