Same. Ive jet washed bikes for years ... No issues at all. I don't think it's relevant ... Fact is that connector sits on top of radiator in the corner of fairing so water from front wheel when riding in rain soaks it ... After all that's why they use a waterproof connector for the other plug in the same area which is unaffected!
There is a difference with 'feeling the need' as you put it and wanting a clean bike. A clean bike is more than the sum of its plastics.
My bikes are always clean.....to the point of my local dealer not bothering to inspect the last two before doing a part- ex. I just find it quicker and better to hand wash. That way you see where maintenance is required.
They get hand washed mainly ... I'm a professional detailer so know a little bit about cleaning cars and bikes. Pressure washer is simply to rinse the grit off to prevent scratching and isn't used with high pressure.
