Does anyone have the requisite knowledge to share with me to enable me to remove the belly pan on my 2011 blade. I have removed the 4 bolts (2 each side) but am a bit stuck with unfastening the section located in front of the down pipes. Its all inter-locked and I can't fathom how best to tackle it for fear of breaking something. I've tried Youtube but no joy. Many thanks Mick
Mick, you need to feel within the lower where it meets the mid panels and put pressure on the tabs whilst pushing the middle piece towards the rear wheel. There are two tabs underneath which once the side tabs have released you can pull the lower ones apart, the fairing middles moving outwards. If I was you Iwould heat the plastics a bit with a hair dryer so the tabs are not brittle from the cold. Hope this helps
No, I've left it for another day. My patience was waning and I didn't want to break anything. May have another go tomorrow before work.
I'm doing mine on Sunday with the help of lee...everything I touch breaks into a million pieces. I've got to fit the carbon belly pan and service the bike. Thank god for lee.... Everyone needs a lee in their lives
I am actually completely, totally, undeniably, incredibly Useless at everything ...................................but i'm a pro at removing belly pans..
Thanks for the advice, Shameless. I did exactly what you suggested and with a little bravery on my part it came apart nicely. The hardest part was putting it back on! Anyway, all done now and I would certainly feel confident doing it next time. I've been able to clean and ACF50 the bits I wanted (not that it needed cleaning as I've only done 300 miles and they have all been dry ones). Thanks again mate Mickk
