Me and a couple of pals were unfortunate enough to meet one of the said members of Yorkshires twat brigade at the weekend, pulled us in with speed gun to tell us he hadn't actually recorded an excessive speed for any of us and then proceeded to tell us that all bikers go out every weekend to break the law with their noisy exhausts and reckless riding styles. He was a proper twat, basically wasted 15 minutes of a good ride and then sent us on our way. He even tried to tell us at one point that (pedal)cyclist are allowed to ride in packs and when I challenged him and told him to get his highway code he backed down. I bet he likes to wear tight lycra and clip-ons! CUNT!

A guy down the street from me is a recently retired armed response officer, nicest bloke I've ever met BTW. Clearly they have a breeding program for this new lot.

So yeah, I'm with you Kentblade!

I blame the lowering of entry standards in order to fulfill their " diversity" programmes.
Modern police don't have the " presence" that old time coppers had so have to hide behind a uniform.
    Just my opinion of course.

I always treat them like a timid animal, if them come to you be friendly and no sudden movements, if they don't leave them alone. joking aside there is no harm in being friendly if they want a chat. I wouldn't give them a nod, if they are having a bad day they might think you're taking the piss and stop you for an unfriendly chat.

Its a NO from me, they don't like me coz im a criminal ......... yep been done over the years for a dangerous sized number plate !! going too fast on a empty road in wales with a noisy exhaust ...... appears the noise worries sheep ?? and ive even been ticketed in the 90's for a very very dangerous black visor on a hot sunny summers day......... the list goes on and on, sure ive done a lot wrong and a lot worse and got away with lots, but they might as well be called tax collectors not coppers and that's another occupation that attracts certain types and don't get me on the parking warden debate !!!!

Yeah, but you'll nob at anyone...

I nod to them. It's part of the tacit agreement. When they meet, dogs sniff each other's arses, cats screw each other out, women look for flaws, bikers nod. It's a bit like counting coup. "I see you. I know what you are, we are in concord".

If I don't get a return, that's no biggie. The other guy just has a different take on it. I do it under the terms of my respect for other bikers. I don't expect everyone to feel the same or be part of the agreement, and to be honest, I get far less reciprocation from merchant bankers in shiny, frilly leathers or pristine kevlar on Harleys and GSs than from BIBs.

As to police riders, I've known a few and ridden with a few and acknowledge how tough their role is. Traffic cops without a cage full of airbags, respect. If they catch me doing something wrong, in the end, I was doing something wrong.

    And bugger, can they ride.
