Hi guys I just wondered if there were any decent crash bungs out there that doesn't require cutting the fairings? Regards Haydn
Well, if you want branded ones, like R&G you'll have to cut the fairings. Or you could look at these http://www.bikehps.com/acatalog/Honda_CBR1000RR_Fireblade_2008-2011_Crash_Protectors.html
Tidy looking bike Stevet noticed you have the frame plugs have tried to get a set but can only see for pre 2008 .
i payed £110 second hand ta terry...the plugs arnt for a fireblade....went on fleabay and when i put in cbr 1000 frame plugs,it also came up with some for a gsxr 750 ,there was 12 ov them for around £6...though i'd buy some on the off chance ..4 ov em fitted the frame (had too shave 2 down a bit to fit ) and 4 fitted over the subframe bolts......nice
Have no probs Cone Cutting a Fairing to get decent protection. The 'No Drill' units use extension brackets which easily bend in a Crash and thus offer minimal protection to boot whilst costing loads more to buy.
Crash bungs are worth every penny, I have the no cut ones from R&G and they saved my bike when I came off.
The r and g no cut bungs also have a metal bar thats bolted from one bracket to the other ,which runs at the back of the radiator
Yep, these are from Gilles. I've tested them in real life, they work, but...............not as good as I'd like. I crashed at about 30mph (right hand side slide) and the fairing and front cowl suffered graze damages but they weren't smashed. Quite simply they need to be a bit longer by about 10-20mm. I've now replaced the Gilles bungs with longer ones (no pics) not as 'trick' looking but hopefully more effective if used.
