Been meaning to ask for ages what the rear brakes are like on your 08> blades. Riding mine for the 400 mile I did the very end of last year I noticed mine was crap??? What are yours like, I can lick the rear wheel up with it but have to really stand on it!
mine was sh1t, however changed the brake line and cleaned the calipers it locks up just like my mrs purse, when required
Glad it's the norm then I'll be getting lines soon and calliper is like new anyway! Cheers for feedback gents
Mine is crap as well .... the engine braking is stronger than the brake itself And I have a new line on .. fluid changed .. cleaned and serviced .... its still crap I have a Brembo on order .. been held up over X-mas
we shared a little rubber to rubber love on the approach to a roundabout. Nothing major but quite funny
Do rate the front and rear brakes on my 04, however found 08 onwards were even better. Did look at a mates 09 where he complained of poor brakes and found the master cylinder plunger was not adjustedly correctly to the brake pedal. Clevis pin removed from brake pedal and plunger adjusted and hand operated to obtain full swept volume of the MC to gain maximum hydraulic pressure. Brake pedal and clevis pin fitted full hydraulic pressure and 100% braking. That was only on one bike but hey its worth anothe look if you're having problems. then fitted the brake pedal and clevis pin. 100% improvement the tight bugger bought me a pizza but hey that was only on one 09.
What kit you got nt? Some of the options were talked about in the other thread Benn would need to know that the Brembo kits do not work with the stock wheels as they fowl the hub/spoke.. Did you go for OEM brembo, 84mm HPK, 64mm Race spec HPK, 2 piston, 4 piston....come on give us some info... http://1000rr.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2262
Yur right about the HPK on your Blade Arthur .. the site says that you might have to shave the edges of the caliper to fit oe wheels on the 04/5/6/7 Blades. But for 08/9 it doesn't say any mods are needed. So I have an HPK 84mm on order with the CZ bracket (I placed the order before you posted your problems with the CZ) but I have a cunning plan... ABE do a bigger rear disc or even one off discs to order ... or my supplier will take the hanger back and get the Brembo hanger.
Good move Nutty, tbh if your like me and you like to trail (use..lol) your rear brake then the oversize disc is a MUST have imo that would work with the CZ mount, there is another mount on eBay for 70.00 have you seen it? that works with the 84mm caliper and a 240mm rear disc! The CZ mount is much lighter than the Brembo but for some reason I was in a hurry or I would have thought it through I was sick of waiting and my bike is off for display for photos etc (more soon) so it had to be DONE... Looking forward to seeing it Nutty..
