I decided to get a new bike for the commute and a bit of fun while I was at it so I opted for one of these! She's an absolute blast and that sound!!.. with help from the SC Project can it's like a Rita Ora orgasm in your head! I'm keeping the Blade for touring & track oh and special occasions but yeah the Street Triple R is a cracking wee bike.
I had an STR before I bought my Blade. Matt grey in the original round eye version (I hated the non-round eyes when they came out but they've grown on me since). Lots of extras incl Arrow cans Still miss that bike, on very tight, twisty roads I reckon the STR is quicker than the blade, but once it's slightly less tight the Blade is no match Cracking bike, full of character (pops, crackles). The Blade is much more refined in comparison (and more economical?!)
They're too good for the winter not sure about the older one but the build on mine is excellent so far!
I have a mate who bought one last year, about 4 year old, we all rode to Mugello, It broke down,, he came back home on the back of a zzr1400 , he sold it as soon as it was shipped back,,it seems there is a couple of problems that arise, he said it was written about a lot on the triple forum,,it turned out that his had a badly corroded middle spark plug, a common problem,water logging in the plug well. Also there is a big problem with cables cracking somewhere near where they bend when moving the handlebars. Good luck.
In my view if it had been a new bike it would have been relevant, but a four year old one! Who's to say that the previous owner didn't do exactly the same thing ie sell on a lemon. It'll always be a lemon until someone sorts it.
They are excellent! Get yourself a test ride! They're so much fun and surprisingly quick a proper B road tool! I've fell in love again

What I have realised over the years is riders bike maintenance is as diverse as they're taste in bikes and they can unbeknown to them cause problems by doing something or not doing something that they think is all right! Like my old riding instructor never put water near his bike only cleans it with WD40 and the like while the other instructor uses baby shampoo & pledge! But I will keep an eye on it
Any of you street owners ever try an MT-09 ? I test rode one today. Loads of grunt, nice comfy ride. Turns in ok, holds a line. Slightly budget in some areas but that's to be expected I suppose. A good bike to mod if you like (plenty do) Just wondering how the compare.... Thanks
Hi mate, I've never tried the MT09 I hear it make the Street feel wanting in the power department! But the Street more than make up for that in handling, fueling, feel and character! You have to work the engine to keep up but what an engine to work and that sound!!.. especially with a SC Project Conic Can with all that crackling and popping on over run it's so addictive
Not very plush and does dive around a bit. Hence why so many are modded. The fueling thing is apparently now a free ecu fix from Yamaha dealer.
I don't think there's a world of difference in performance between the Street & the MT last year MCN clocked a sub 3sec to 60 on the Street it's a very quick wee bike but it was the looks, handling and that engine that won me over
They are seriously a real world bike. I have one (traded the R9 Blade in for it) with a grands worth of carbon on it, QS, engine and frame protection, Tona rear sets and a custom seat. Absolutely love it, gone +2 on the rear sprocket, Speed Triple throttle tube and derestricted air intake and K&N with the Arrow map for the HP Corse can and I'm currently converting it to an RX with a Daytona seat unit.
