Mate of mine is looking at purchasing a 2012 CBR1000RR
It is a 20th Anniversary model in plain black
    Reg no RJ61WCZ

Bike has done around 6,000miles however owner has lost service history inc original service book and has only got service stamp for last service which was done last year.

Bike completely std apart from R&G crash bungs.
Std exhaust however revs hunting at idle!!!

    Anyone know this bike?

    Owner based in South Wales

    Thanks

    Thank Ian

The mileage seems dubious as I can't believe that chain would be worn and the rear pads close to minimum at 6,000miles!!

Agree - that seems unlikely unless the rider is using the rear brake as a footrest!
Have a similar mileage 2015 and rears still have 70% left.

Is it an ABS? From experience ABS models are heavier on the rear brakes.

A lot of the R prefix bikes were first registered by Honda UK. Possibly ex Ron Haslam? (not that it matters).

I bought my 09 last year, one owner bike with 3k miles on. Chain was shot and sprocket wasn't great, mainly down to o/ring splits. On nearly 7k miles now, MOT last week and existing pads discs are spot on.

    Thanks for the responses.

Yes the bike is an ex Honda Ron Haslam bike which was sold to the second owner with around 300miles when it was 12 months old.

The second owner has used it in winter and was caked with salt which caused the corrosion and premature ageing of the bike!!

Still no explanation regarding the premature west of the rear brake pads!!

Air filter was removed and looked very clean, in line with the 6,000miles on the clocks
