Hello Just out of interest roughly how long should these last with normal riding - no race days. And what are your recommendations? thanks B
No idea on the road. but as for replacing them, Renthal Sprockets & Chain from B&C Express is your number 1 option, they are not called the best for no reason..
I am just getting lots of bits to service my blade, (oil / filter / plugs etc) and I have just bought this as well, Renthal SRS Ring Chain & Sprocket Kit suitable for a Honda CBR1000 RR9 (2009)
Be carefully though, renthal chains have solid rivits and the did style riveter won't do it. I use did chains and get about 20-30k out of a set. It's how regular you clean and lube them too. A thorough weekly clean and a lube every 150-200 miles is a must for long lasting chains.
We would be happy to supply for a group buy, if there was enough interest they would be Genuine Honda Chains and Sprockets. Regards Stu.
Tsubaki chain & Renthal sprockets from B&C Express. Life span depends on how you treat them really! I normally get less than 10k miles out of them.
I want a gold chain too. You know though, after all these years I'm still non the wiser on xring vs oring
X ring has more sealing edges than o ring, supposed to seal better? Front renthal, New , eBay, 2nd hand 10, rear gold alloy renthal , eBay , new, 2nd hand , 15, chain , used, 1000 miles, 20 inc postage. EBay. Total 45 quid. Brand new, about 160 all in.
The big factor in ring types for chains is drag, O ring chains have loads of drag, W and X ring chains offer good oil seal with much less drag, an O ring chain can take up to 25% more power to drive than a non O ring chain. For max power a chain with no sealing rings would be best... Just sayin...lol
I,ll take the drag and a 30,000 mile chain thanks mate. My drag bike had massive oval links, no o rings and WD40 for lube , but it only covered about 30 miles a year.
Agree mate I use a nice qual X ring ZVM chain.. oh yeah...lol no matter what chain a few wheelies sorts them out..
Lol not wrong.. and yes Benn main reason no one in motorcross runs o ring chains however muddy... Stick with as said x ring zvm, like mw says the best..
