    Anyone know the correct procedure for measuring a bike's noise level? For example;

    db meter settings flat or A weighted.
    Distance and position of mic in relation to exhaust opening.
    Engine rpm, is it a peak level or an average across the rpm range?

    I just pop up to nearest track running a track day and get them to noise to test it ;)

    That's quiet.

    UK Tracks are the most stringent of most places.
    On the road noise in general aint an issue unless it's stupid loud or you get pulled for sumat else and they then feel like 'fine tooth combing' U!

    Funnily enough I'm off to Oulton 2morrrow just for a Noise test prior to a Trackday on the 23rd.

    Had some mods done to the Bike including a De-Cat link pipe so just want to check it passes before the 23rd, otherwise it'll be an expensive day!

    At Castle Combe you need to be under their noise limit (105db) at 3/4 RPM. (about 10k RPM on a blade)
    This rules out stock '08 and '10-on Fireblade and a few list of others.

    I'm not sure which exhausts can get the blade under these limits.
