Well its saddens me that after my trip to France and only having the bike a few months its now having to go, in for a more upright bike. While away i was getting a lot pf neck pain and pins/needles in head and shoulders. Ive just had a scan only to find the riding position is so that its nipping a nerve when as some speed and ive 2 compressed disc's 3&4 not happy but i guess i gave it ago. and still able to ride something ! on that note i have a clear 2008/2009 McGUINNESS REPLICA RACE SCREEN up for decent offers. cheers all for your help and advice while ive been on here.
Know how you feel mate, every time I ride my blade on the road I think I might have to give it up and get something more upright....until I ride it on track! At least it not injury for me though. Have you got any pics of the screen and what you looking for it?
Be careful when choosing a bike, i went to a Yamaha Gen 2 Fazer thou after my Vfr,,,i thought it was good for the last three years but now i have my blade i have found thet real nice to ride,,i started to take the Fazer out again and realised that i got lower back ache because any bumps went straight up my spine,,odd really, but upright is not all it's made out to be,,,you can of course customise ANY bike to fit best.
I had a operation to remove part of a disk in my back and riding upright bikes is really uncomfortable. Not necessarily a bad thing though
I've had neck and back problems similar to those described but not needing surgery. Before getting my RR7 I was very pessimistic that it would hurt my back but not a bit of it. The only problem position wise was the bars were too far forward and down for my build, and it was cramping my neck. I've fitted some Helibars and the issue has largely gone. I'd try some adjustable bars first before giving up, no bike is right for everyone, tall, short, long arms, short arms etc. A small lift at the wrist feels dramatic at your neck, believe me. Good luck.
Two thirds of the regulars now have "other bikes" and this forum is one of the best for most anyhow.... so stick around I'm on a Speed Triple at mo.... best bike I've had in ages !!
