I know there's a thread here about the full fairing, but has anyone bought just the cowl? I'm thinking the fit will probably be ok (lot simpler to make than a full fairing)
I've seen a few the plasic is brittle and the colour match poor, some have been happy others say a waist of money... not much help but thought I'd say.
Worth it imo, the big problem with poor fit etc even with the Honda item is watch they don't cut into the rear seat unit!
My Honda one has done just that on or side... Ok with cowell on but out the seat and it's visible... Not that impressed tbh Blags - dan had one which came off on a ride - lost all his stuff!
Yep thats what they do, when I fit them I use hidden strips of foam to keep them off other paintwork, not too thought out by Mr Honda imo.
Would someone post a pic of the inside of a Honda one for me please and or a replica one just wanna check mine is a proper one
For a replica piccy, just type in repsol fireblade on flea bay. Thousands of em with piccys of underneath
Should be home soon. Will boot pc up n see if i can find a nice piccy. Dont know how to drop a link in via android.
try this. pic not too good tho Fireblade Rear Seat Cover Cowl for Honda CBR 1000 RR 08-10 Repsol | eBay
Scroll down. 2 pics of underside. Worked when i tried my own link on pc, not showing up on android though. WTF?
Yep .. 2 neck scarfs , My Wallet , My tube with Tax disc in . 20 Regal . Lighter etc I pulled up at my house and thought i had blown my mate on the back roads , Noticed my cowl and belongings missing so got changed and went to trace my route in the car and there was my mate plodding down the road . He had been following a trail of all my stuff and stopping to pick bits up lol Got everything back apart from the seat cowl ( which i would have binned anyway ) and lost my tax disc I may have been unlucky but even thou mine was a decent colour match i would not get 1 again . The hook started to rust after a couple of weeks as well
I have a Chinese copy and it needed a bit of outside the box engineering to prevent it vibrating against the fairing and the paint job is not particularly good. However, you have to remember the cost, I paid £20 second hand and you get what you pay for. Mines an RR5 and Black, but if I had a new Repsol then I would insist on a genuine part. There are good and bad copies you takes your chance, or you pay for a genuine and be sure of the quality you will be getting but you pay for it?
