I actually wanted Shaky Byrne to win, as I have met him at a promo - and I actually wear a Shaky Byrne replica Shoei lid. But there was no getting away from Josh Brooke's eventual dominance of the season on his R1. I watched the races on Sky TV. I had to look up the actual details of how many race wins, but I remember his season, and watched that moment at Cadwell Park on live TV. I like watching the British Superbike Series.
I'm looking forward to seeing this, as none of the current sports bikes (other then the current blade) do anything for me. I'm also hoping they do it in black!
Thing is. Do you buy this years bike cheap or next years bike expensive (guessing)? A few cheap SP's out there. The promo video doesn't really tell us anything.
So far from the pics I've seen and Honda's teaser video, not a lot has changed. I'm betting there will be at least two specs. Base model, relatively cheap but poorly spec'd and an SP, with much of the electronics and cost a fortune. I think electronic suspension is a must these days.
true. pretty pointless teaser. glowing down pipes...doesn't say much. I read Nicky Hayden saying that the Honda Ten Kate WSBK team hasn't even seen the bike yet. Yet there expected to have it track ready for testing by Feb next year. They build there own parts with little official support from Honda (Japan or HRC).
Agree - not sure why they bother. Anyone remember a previous Honda marketing campaign where they released bits of information? - we ended up with the VFR1200...
About the only glint of information they given! Probably haven't decided themselves yet what the bike needs as taken them 4years since the last update
The experts can say all they like about the new Blade - but a bike with a motor like that in it is not the same as mine - end of !! Even if the new Fireblade looked exactly the same as mine in every detail - if it had that motor in it, then it is a different bike !! Looking forward to 2017 racing season, bring it on.
Did I miss something? How can you tell anything about the "motor" from those clips other than that it's an inline 4?
It appears to be a more powerful engine than the one in my 2015 Fireblade. I have done a few up though the gears runs, up to the rev limiter - at Santa Pod Raceway - the Drag Strip in Northamptonshire. If the sound of that motor does not move you in some way - does not excite you in some way - or enthuse you in some way - then.........
And you can tell that from the noise of a video clip! So with a racefit exhaust fitted does that make any bike sound more powerful or just noisier?
I expect it to be more powerful but how powerful is the question everyone wants answering which we will only find out on the day it is shown off. I don't expect it to be a massive hike as we all want and I don't think a video clip can show you any changes in power from what we have unless you could see it was a v engine which this clearly is not
Get a R6 BSB supersport on a Dyno, stand next to it, it's has ported head, cams and titanium exhaust system , sounds fast, powerful, awesome noise !!! = 135-136 bhp Sound isn't = Power. If not I'll tell the world to ditch their dynos and get you to tell them if it's less or more power !!!
