So after flirting with the idea of swapping my blade for a tuono, I have decieded to keep my blade and adapt it to my needs.... basically to stop it making my feet numb and severe pin and needles, to stop my hip hurting due to the leg position and possibly raise the bars or put straight bars on. I know the later two reasons is probably addressed with bar raisers and adjustable rearsets, but which ones? and any ideas re numb feet due to vibrating pegs ( I know it is a trait of a blade, i have had 3 that all do it, but I am a bit fed up of it now ) Cheers
What about some pegs with rubber on them to reduce the vibes? Maybe try some insoles in you're boots to help with the vibration
Insoles.... that is an obvious and simple solution. Good thinking! My boots I have had since I was 18 ( still alpinestars ) but thats near 20 years since ( I don't feel that old! ), and do not have a great deal of padding remaining so that is a great idea! Cheers
Got Helibars on mine and that has reduced vibration as well as improved the riding position without affecting the look. Just done 2500 miles in 10 days. No wrist ache just odd aches that you would expect on any bike doing that sort of mileage
20 year old Boots FFS? Wouldn't fancy coming off in them! Even cheapy new 'bottom of the range' Boots would offer better protection than 20 year old Alpinestars! Get some new'uns bought matey!
Hip problem can be resolved by getting of the bike every 50/60 miles and have a quick stretch. Or dangle your legs now and then like Rossi.
Yep, think new boots are in order, I cannot believe I never thought to replace them. I replaced my leather everything over the years, but my boots I kind of forgot about..... until now! But nope, even after 50 miles my hip is agony, think rear sets are the only solution to just adjust my leg to a different position, I think it is work and how I sit / move around has affected my hip more recently.... suddenly this forum has made me acknowledge I am getting older in two ways... my old gear and my creaky joints....
Which sidi's by the way? I haven't looked at boots in ages, just had a quick look..... they still make my old boots alpinestar gortex smx... but they are a bit fancier these days
Dr.D Alpinestars Supertech R are the most comfy Boot available and offer the best protection outside of Daytona's! https://www.mcaleicester.co.uk/alpi...eed_fbgoogle&gclid=CIqtxPS1xM8CFYUV0wodXgYEnw Buy Some!
My summer ones are Sidi Vertigo & winter ones are Sidi gortex, had both a few years now & can't fault them tbh
My short list begins, alpinestar super tech r and sidi vertigo.... Going to nip up to the local dealer and try some on this weekend. Cheers guys.
