I sold my Blade on fleaBay on Friday. I contacted the buyer and he replied stating that he's away until today (the 11th) and so couldn't collect right away. I sent him a message yesterday lunchtime asking when he'll be coming to collect the bike and as yet no reply. At what point do you think I should start looking to offer it to the 2nd chance bidder? He's local and has already been in touch asking me to let me know if it falls through.
Have you messaged through the site or do you have his contact details? If through the site you can ask eBay for his contact details for when you have no reply like that! If you don't get any joy that way I'd give it one more day then offer to next person, then let eBay know about the first person failing to complete the sale
I messaged him through the site. I'll get his contact details from them and see if I can stir some kind of response out of him that way.
What's the price difference between both bidders? If it's not too great then I'd be tempted to bin him and sell to the guy who's local. When I bought my track bike from out your way I was there the following day with a cash deposit and collected with the balance the following week.
Yeah. The guy had a lot on his plate. Bit of a bereavement and didn't know when he'd be able to collect. He offered a decent chunk deposit if I wanted but also said that he'd understand if I wanted to cancel and sell to the next highest bidder so that's what I did. The new owner's going to pick her up on Friday.
It's the most dangerous thing in the world buying a bike, the number of times would be buyers can't complete because of a dead relative.
i have the same problem at work with some of my shift... one guys granny has died 3 times that i know of in the last couple of years.
