Just priced up a road pilot 3 (190/55/17) on Amazon USA. It will cost $170 ~£139.
The company has free shipping on its web site. I have found others in the USA, but the will not ship to the UK.
I have been to check out and put my address in and everything seems ok. I have not purchased it yet.
One would of thought there would be some sort of tax on it.
Note, you cannot purchase the road pilot 3 in a 55 in the uk.
Could there be any problems? I am not in a rush for the tyre, so it can come via the sea.

    Road pilot 3 not 2

Why not just buy the later Pilot Road 4 Cheaper? e.g. https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/motorbike-tyres/michelin/pilot-road-4/190-55-zr17-75w-190387 £123 delivered. Tyre Leader is EU so no extra tax (at the moment...)

If you order from the US you may (probably will) be liable for VAT, Import Duty and a handling fee - that makes it a very expensive tyre! I have ordered before from the US and you often get a bill from the Courier (e.g. ParcelForce) for all the fees - goods aren't released until the bill is paid.

The other option is to buy the correct (50) profile tyre in Pilot Road 3 https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/motorbike-tyres/michelin/pilot-road-3/190-50-zr17-73w-181691 £109 delivered.

Yeah, you'll get hit with import duty, plus a Parcel Force handling charge who will take over its delivery once in the UK.

Most tyre sites won't want old rubber hanging around and more bikes use 190/55 than 190/50 hence why you're struggling to find older rubber in that size! Wouldnt surprise me if the pilot road 5 is out soon

Michelin do still make older version of their tyres as well the current model (which I find strange!). I will check the date on the tyre when it arrives.

Michelin still sell Pilot Power and Pilot Power 2CT - they must have been around 6+ years ago!
