I have just put a pair of 2014 wheels on my 09 blade. Spent ages changing the cush drive and newish tyres over. Went out today and guess what, a rusty broken washer right in the center of the rear. I will get it plugged next week. It is also in the center of the tread. Road pilot 2.

I've had michelins repaired before and last one had a screw between the tread and was repaired no problem, phone around as sounds like your bike shop just wants to sell you another tyre! Michelin quote on their site you can repair them a couple of times

A lot of dealers, garages etc won't fix a motorcycle puncture. There is to many variables and they wouldn't want to be liable if it failed.I fit my own tyres and have fixed several motorcycle punctures over the years using mushroom type plugs without a problem. As long as the area to be repaired is not excessively damaged and is not too far from the centre of the tyre I wouldn't have a problem. Different manufacturers have different views on the subject. At the end of the day it's up to you if you want ride on a repaired tyre.

punctures in general can be repaired as long as it is within a certain area of the tyre and not too big for the mushroom. I know some garages are not interested but they give all the wrong reasons to get you to buy a new tyre.
If you have the money, then do get a new tyre to give yourself the peace of mind you are after. Hope your next tyre lasts much much longer:)

I repaired my M7RR rear after only 1 month with one of those rep+air (I think it was anyway) mushroom plugs. Not even lost any pressure since the repair.

Course you can. Lets face it, it's no more likely to blow after the repair than before. Leak air past the plug if it's not done properly, maybe. But that's going to be slow.

    You could also try 'slime'.

or there is another one some dealers sell (Chiswick Honda had it a couple of weeks ago when I was in there. Punctureseal? (http://www.punctureseal.com/jugs.html). Used to come in a big bottle (Their website says it's only available in jugs now)

Works like a charm. You chuck it in the tyre when it's new (or not so new) and it just seals when/if you get a puncture. When I was riding on the Colnbrook bypass daily, I used to use it always. It saved me about a puncture a week.
