All, pretty much as the title says! I've had 25K miles out my current disks, and theyre down to minimum thickness, and the left one is warped. It's an 07 in HRC colours. The Bremo Oro disks are a bit thicker and not much more than OEM, so I thought I'd go for them. Previously, going from OEM pads to the Vesrahs was a huge difference, but I'm wondering if I should go for the brembo pads with the disks, or is people rate the Vesrahs over the Brembos. Thoughts? I'm also going to go for some HEL braded lines whilst I'm at it.
Thanks - that makes the decision harder though! Are the SBS considered beter than the Vesrahs?! Have you tried both? Not too fussed about spending money on good brakes - it's not something to scrimp on IMO. Another worry I have is about conterfeit brakes. There's a place in Italy selling my brembo oro disks for €130 instead of the usual £209 (each), but obviously don't want some mickey mouse chinese shite with a brembo logo on them. The place seems to be totally legit though. Has anyone come across counterfeit disks?
+1 on the SBS pads, just make sure you get the Street Excel pads dual sintered. Can't comment on the Vesrahs as I've never used them, I'm running SBS pads in my Brembo GP4's and Brembo T-drives, and there as good as the brembo Z04 pads with more initial bite.
I haven't tried the Vesrah's but i have tried both the Brembo pads and the SBS street excel pads and to be honest I couldn't really tell them apart. The only difference being I paid £75 for a pair of Brembo pads and only £37.99 for a pair of SBS pads. Not really skimping on brakes per say, but IMO the SBS pads are better value for money compared to the Brembo pads.
They kept coming up in my searches, for example: http://www.1000rr.net/forums/1000rr-mods-upgrades/27991-whats-best-brake-pads.html I tried a set, and the difference over stock was night and day. I'd certainly take another pair, but wanted to see how they compare to the Brembos.
