Really surprised it doesn't have the same forks as the likes of the ZX10R and new Gixxer. Pretty sure Honda own Showa too, so why not have them on the bike. Hhmm
They will probably go straight to Ohlins on the SP2 Col. Have put Ohlins internals on my ZX10's Gas charged Showa front end as an upgrade! Standard Bike will be Showa shod I suspect?
The SP2 is the race version mate. The SP1 is what I'd imagine most will go for with the Semi active Ohlins. Did you not find the forks good enough on the ZX10R?
Standard Forks are/were mint Col, but U know me, if I can make em better, irrespective of whether I can utilise/justify the cost/upgrade then I will! Tiz only money after all!
The current bikes have had that since 2012! (assume it means Big Piston Forks and balance free rear shock?)
All Blades since 2012 and ZX10R's since 2011 till 2015 had the Showa BPF (Big Piston Forks) The new 2016+ ZX10R's and the yet to be released MY17 GSX-R1000 have the Showa BFF (Balance Free Forks- Gas Charged Canister piggy backed on the leg) All stuff that can be upgraded with Swedish Gold!
Looking forward to seeing it in race trim. McGuinness' No 1 Fireblade looks 'kin awesome even now. So looking forward to seeing this in TT race bike trim, although it probably won't look as chunky as the current No 1 blade. All this advertising with some professional Johnny riding around the city with his pictures is all very well - but I would rather see it with a number on, in P1 !
Yes, your wife would swap you for a model too, Black, of course!! And his nickname wouldn't be Slimwilly !!
The new GSXR comes with more basic forks like these as well. Do they not have two versions of the new GSXR? One with more "basic" equipment in line with the base model blade and one model with the same forks as the ZX10r?
Well looks like my Dymags and Brembo kit and Ohlins will go straight on but it's still 15kgs heavier than mine! Im liking the red
