Well having battled my way through the crowds to look at the blade and sp1, I can't say I'm that impressed tbh, think if I was to be in the market for a new sports bike it'd be the r1m or rsv4
No its not. http://1000rr.co.uk/threads/mad-matts-long-long-long-road-to-bsb-glory.21218/ My thread has more
I'm not overly impressed either, so many bits look the same on mine, why bother. Trade in my 5-6k 09 Repsol, and get a 14-16k new one, would it be worth the extra 9-10k?? Think I'd rather by another brand, BMW S1000rr I think it would tick the boxes. As for the stupid triangle cover on the side of the frame !!!! Looks like something you would have in the boot of a car to protect the light wires/bulbs.
Greetings from Perth, can't wait for the SP2 to land down here in 17 but again I see rubber lines and nissin master cylinder. IMO it should be Brembo standard on the SP and braided lines too! A little carbon fibre and model designation on the paneling would do it justice. If it's good enough for the R1M, ZX's and other flagships Mr Redwing...
Or we'll never mind I will settle for second ,I knew you are mad mad matt or there's another post to add
Agree with above. They say it is 90% new?! the Frame, Swinging arm, Wheels, Brakes, Foot Pegs, Suspension, etc. on the standard model all look very familiar! The plastic frame covers are poor - they would have been better off leaving them off - or not having the holes there at all. I don't understand why they have gone back to the gold / bronze engine casings - they were never popular when they tried that on the Blade back in 2008.. It would have been good to see the dash powered up in some sort of demo mode. Overall disappointed with Hondas range. They keep wheeling the Crosstourer out year after year. They don't seem to be bothered about having anything to compete with the Ducati Multi Strada, KTM Adventure, BMW S1000XR etc. in the Adventure market. Similarly they don't have anything to compete with naked bikes such as the Yamaha MT10 / BMW S1000R.
I'm in the same boat. Was offered 5k trade in for my 09 repsol, very clean bike with 8k on the clock. This was for a 12.5k R1 I tried a couple of months ago but 5k was for anything they had, Honda...Kwak and Yam main dealers. Just cannot justify that much
I like the new Honda but it's going to be hard to let the r1m go,I still think it's a better looking bike the r1 what do u think
Following the show visit yesterday and registering interest in the Blade, Honda have emailed a link to the 2016 Brochure?! Poor marketing! It does look similar though... "Thanks for requesting more information on our motorcycle range. Please find a link to download the most up to date brochure. The latest models may not be in the brochure yet, but Honda will send you the new version when it's available." They would have been better developing a PDF brochure with the 2017 model ready for the launch instead of all the Teaser videos etc.
