Let's just wait until the new blade is independently tested against its peers. At the moment this is all speculation and quite frankly getting into the realms of the ridiculous imho.
Bullshit - I was ridiculed by everyone on this forum for saying that the new SP sounded more powerful than mine - like it was the most ridiculous statement - even though it turns out it is more powerful, and it even revs higher !! Now I have said it looks more aerodynamic and explained why - and again like that is the most stupid and ridiculous statement - unreal.
I think the only thing ridiculous is that people are complaining that it's 10 bhp etc down on some of the competition. As if you are going to notice that on the road and even on track only if you were a top rider. It will be down to how the bike uses that power and applies it to the road and we kno Hondas record on that is pretty good. The upcoming tests will confirm this and then it's going to be down to having a test ride. BHP figures will only matter in the dick waving competition at the local cafe. I expect Honda are pretty confident in the bike as a package and not worried about it being down on headline figures. Lots of changes that you can't see
Agreed with the above regarding handling and mechanics, but god all mighty, it's one dull looking bike....... I'd sooner spend my hard earnt on a GSXR, BMW S1000RR or a R1...... And not to mention the Panagle....
I could have listened to someone kicking the tyre of the new fireblade and told you it's got more BHP and revs higher than the last one. It was a foregone conclusion Mattie.
Mattie pls. No one was ridiculing you for your assumption that the bike would have more power. What was ridiculous was to say that you could tell it had more power purely by listening to a promo video. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?
You still don't get it. One bike was mine, that I have done over 14,000 miles on in the last year or so. I am quite familiar with how it sounds. I even mentioned Santa Pod drag strip to show that I have heard my motor rev up to the rev limiter. And I have spent days at a time on it touring in Europe, day after day. The other bike, that I was comparing it to, according to the video, was the the new SP - and not some random motor To me these two things SOUNDED DIFFERENT. I actually thought the SP motor was higher revving. But anyway, the new SP motor in the video SOUNDED DIFFERENT, and my conclusion was that this difference meant the new SP motor sounded more powerful, not the same or less but more. What has been done is to massively expand this simple argument. What I started as a simple comparison between (1) the new SP motor and (2) mine - has been turned into an assumption that I claim to be able to tell the difference between ALL engines by listening to them. This argument has been expanded to assume I claim to be able to tell the difference between ALL motors and micro differences between all and every motor at random, just by listening to them; which is not what I said Anyway, good luck in your racing.
You're a racing man - you should have an ear for a fine tuned motor. Is it so outrageous a claim to have made that the new more powerful higher revving SP sounds different and therefore more powerful ? This is a Honda Fireblade forum right ? experts on Fireblades ?
dude... i am mechanically hopeless... i couldn't tell the difference if a standard or tuned one smacked me in the face. take it with a pinch of salt mate, it's all a bit of jest. but you are right, plenty of 'experts' here....
