I have a 2013 Blade and want make a rack for it. I was thinking something like the one below. I am a design engineer and have access to a laser cutter, so making the plate is easy. I then planned to buy a second-hand pillion seat, drill through and screw the plate on to make it quick-release.

Question is, what year seat will fit my 2013 bike? There's a few on eBay advertised as 08-11 which look identical to me but I don't know if they'll fit. Anyone know?

    Thanks for any help.

Don't believe they have changed between 08-11 to 12-16

Found a few minutes to get this fitted over Christmas. Excuse the mis-matched bolts: I'll make them countersunk when I get another half hour spare.

It's made from 2mm stainless. The holes are 8mm diameter and easily take a bungee hook with rubber end. There's a slight 'kick' at the back to clear the tail during installation, as you have to arc it into position and it was VERY close to catching without.

I also made a plate from 2mm stainless to go on the inside of the seat with pre-cut holes. All I had to do was drop that in, drill through the pillion seat using the pre-cut holes as a guide, then screw it on. Took about 5 minutes.
