I've fitted a shift support to my blade. The question is do you git rid of the retaining clamp and just fit the support as that must act as the clamp too I'm guessing I've attached photos to show you what I mean That's what I removed So do I keep that on and put the support over it or just leave it off? That's it fitted without the little clamp. Thanks
I only found out about these today, do they make a big difference? I'm guessing it just supports the shaft so when you change it feels more sturdy as there is no flex in the selector?
If you've got £50 spare and feel like pimping your bike a bit then yeah, it's a quick easy job, otherwise probably no. If someone fitted one to your bike without you knowing you'd be pushed to notice. Fit it yourself and you'd notice it's a tad more positive.
Looks identical to the Gilles one and cheaper! I noticed a difference once mine was fitted, definitely more positive shift!
This is the Gilles one below which I've got fitted. The one in the link is obviously very different. Surely the Gilles one with two fixing points has to be better than the single fixing point one?
Correct.... the later bike only has one fixing bolt that's in the same place as the original support mount bolt. Plenty sturdy enough and has no movement once it's bolted down.
