Hi guys, I have a 13 blade, I'm in love with the akrapovic megaphone exhaust but these only fit the 14- models due to the outlet size. Anyone know a way around this, currently have a yoshimura but just doesn't hit the spot for me. Cheers Hedges
I'm sure if take the dimension to an engineering shop they can make you a sleeve out of aluminium.... not going to be to hard to make....
Other option is fit 2014 headers - e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2014-2015...ust-Headers-Catalytic-Converter-/152376020027 The footpegs are slightly different on 2014 onwards - I don't know if the exhaust mount is in the same place? - you may need to change the footpegs as well.
That's an option but having a reducer made is far less painful than pulling headers off, plus refuelling etc for different down pipes with cat in, I recon you can get a spacer made made for £30/40.... it's going to cost you that plus some more just for some 14 plate onwards headers that probably need some attention...
When you remove the standard can on a 13 plate isn't there a graphite type spacer? If do that should fit. Look on Fowler's online parts drawings. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
I had the same issue with a arrow decay pipe. It was a bigger diameter luckily my cousin spun me up an ally spacer Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
There is mate, but no where big enough. I actually brought the akrapovic 6 months ago before I realised my 14 plate blade is actually a 13 model! DOH!
I'm sure youll get it sorted, it all part and parcel of owning and modding bikes. Ive always had Gixxer thous from K7 onwards and they are dead easy to work on. I am finding with my Blade everything is much more compact and well engineered the way its put together.
That would annoy me, being that the 2014 blade has a few upgrades over the 13 plate....depends on what you paid for the bike I suppose. There certainly seems to be a lot of 2012 bikes for sale (anniversary year) and they command quite a bit less than a 14 in similar condition.
If you are still looking, these just popped up... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2014-2015...020027?hash=item237a518c3b:g:kzQAAOSwZQRYZq~B
Cheers mate! Have been making some enquirys this weeks, to get a spacer made could be as little as £40, this maybe the cheaper at the moment.
