ok guys, first start for about 6 weeks, the last time it was started was collecting from the honda dealership from its 16k service at which point it was fine. With the service I've had a used full akrapovic system fitted. Rode it home and the bike was perfect.

Yesterday I started it for a while and there was loads of browny black shit coming out the exhaust when giving it any revs. Really shitty stuff, I had to leave the garage. This is the first time in its life it hasn't been started for 6 weeks and it's a used full system. Do you guys think that is normal? I'll try get a video up..

Stick up a video if you can mate.

Could be a number of things. Even just the wadding in the exhaust blowing, to piston rings or even precious owner of the exhaust having a blown engine.

    Defo not normal

Have you let the engine warm up, could just be oil, soot residue coupled with cold running condensation.

Try running it a couple of times out on the road if you can.

It does seem like oil to me, but I wouldn't discount that maybe the previous owner has had a blow up.

Check the oil before you head out and then check it again once you've came back and let the oil settle again. You'll soon see if it's your bike burning oil or not.

You said you've had a new full Akra system fitted. Perhaps have a look at the activity hat taken place around the studs which hold the headers onto the head. Have any been renewed?

Also, check the water level and is it contaminated?

Cool thanks mate. I'll try get out on it tomorrow, the oil level is halfway between min and max and it's brand new, just been sat for 6 weeks. Poor thing has never not been started that long in its life!

Evening all, took the beast out today for a bit of a clear out and blow off the cobwebs as all I've done is polish the bike for the last 6 weeks. The fumes got cleaner and cleaner and to be honest, weren't really visible from the off.

What I did notice while I was at 11k revs while braking for a roundabout on a dual carriageway, was a 2ft orange flame roaring out the back of it. Looked stunning to be honest. On the way back down the dual carriageway I got to hear the beast with the full Akra for the first time, and it was a job not to poke myself in my eye with the erection it gave me. Took a quick video so you guys can see the difference between the first one..

Cheers for your help everyone. I love the biking community and all the people on this website.

Looks fine now mate. I'd have the bike on the dyno and get it setup for that exhaust. Looks to be over fuelling a bit.

Yeah you're right mate, I've already phoned double take motorcycles about a booking. Shame really as it's got a custom map on there for the slip on

The system defo needs a remap mate. Mine is the same on the track bike. It guzzles the fuel just now

If that was my bike I would be concerned, from the last video it definitely looks like it's burning oil.

Is it possible to ask the previous owner of the exhaust if he had a blow up on his bike?
May be able to explain things if that's the case

I'll see if I still have his number. Think he traded it in. It was a 2015 SP

That can just be over fuelling, though agree needs to be checked out at the mechanics/dyno
