I am going to have to bite the bullet this year and get BT sport added to my Sky package. I like this time of year with the teams testing and teams releasing their paint jobs etc. We have some exciting rider line ups for the new season- Lorenzo to Ducati Vinales to Yamaha Pedrosa still at Honda (How and why). I can't carry on with this Sunday news blackout till the highlights on a Monday anymore.
Sure I've read somewhere that itv will not have a highlight show this year Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Sky are talking about dropping Eurosport or something like that. Apparently there is a big argument going on at the moment and everyone is in the dark. I added BT sport 2 years ago when I switched back to Sky after having it free with Virgin. Fortunately I wanted my football as well so to me it was worth it. I have watched GP's live since time in memorial, (well since it started on Eurosport anyway ) so I needed to keep my fix ongoing It started off at £12 a month and then has crept up to £22 per month so yesterday I phoned then to say 30 days notice then you can poke it where the sun don't shine. Surprise surprise, I will now pay £8 a month for 18 months I can live with that. Especially having like others found out that there is no highlights show on ITV, but in anycase I like to watch live, except the fly aways like Australia which I record and then watch all three classes when I get out of bed in the morning.
There was a threat last month that SKY were going to drop Eurosport amongst other channels, but a deal was sorted at the beginning of the month so thankfully they've still got it. £22 down to £8 a month is a pretty good deal. So annoying how the TV providers do that. Threaten to quit and only then can they do a good deal for you!
No surrender I am afraid. Time for a lesson for these bastards with their growth forecast spreadsheets. Decreased revenue, loss of sales - now tap that into your growth forecasts you corporate ........ ! It is the only language they understand. Anyway how strangely satisfying it will be to read the results in MCN. All this buzz, with satellites, mega corporations and their mega deals - and I will read all about it in a newspaper bought from the corner shop - just like it always was. (early morning rant over !)
MCN gets a lot of bad press but I am thinking of turning the clock back a few years and getting my bike reading fix from good old MCN again.
Being a BT Broadband customer, I get BT Sport for 'free' via my Sky box. *ahem* However... a while ago, BT added a third sport channel, which seems primarily to consist of football, a sport I have no interest in, which has to be paid extra for. No thanks, BT. I don't want the new channel, just the two that are included in my Infinity deal, gratis. Sorry Mr kpone, you can't have two without the third. But the deal was for free BT sport. Yes, that's right. You are getting two for free, you just have to pay for the third one. Then they're not free then, are they. Yes. Two of them are free, but you must pay for the third one. So it's not a free deal then? Oh yes, you get two channels at no extra charge. I'm just tired now...
Oh well more excuses to ride out to the pubs & bike meets that show most of it for free....still be cheaper in fuel & grub than paying for it on TV
I'm a BT Broadband customer (unfortunately) and with their broadband you get free access to the BT Sport app. Then if you get a Chromecast you can play it on your telly. Only problem is you can't record but I think the races are available to replay after the fact with the app.
Actually I think that might be wrong. I have BT sport as part of my package but I think I'm paying for it. That'll be why the app works. I know if you're an EE customer you can get 3 months of BT sport free. You could activate it just before the start of the season and that would get you 8 of the 18 races.
Mine dropped to £9 per month when I cancelled after the MotoGp season, I did say I would re subscribe when the season started. I know it's more money to shell out but I really think the coverage on BT is impressive and the presenters to a great job. With Jules and Keith on the microphone its like being back in the early SKY WSB days an dthat what got me into bikes in the first place. Whilst I'm earning I'm happy to pay but if I wasn't it would be gone.
Take a look at this link, it shows a way of getting a cheaper Moto GP Video Pass: http://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/how-to-get-moto-gp-video-pass-at-a-lower-price.32439/
Have they moved to full HD yet 1080p? been stuck on 720p for ages? I want go there instead of BTsport as its half the price but BTsport in full HD plus some in 4K UHD soon I reckon?
It seems to be 720P, still. I streamed video from my iPhone to a 50" Panasonic 4K Smart TV earlier, and it was absolutely fine. BT sucks and I am not disappointed with the quality. BT can take ..........
Not sure 720 would look good on my 75" 4k though, streamed 720p onto from Eurosport app and it didn't look anywhwere near as good as full 1080p though? I also hear 4k on the way for Motogp (F1 have this season at all races), that will be awesome on the big TV I will stay with BTsport for now then
Yes, 1080P is essential for the scale of your TV. Fingers crossed, full HD will be the norm with Moto GP, soon [emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
