    Hi guys,

I'm going to install a Akrapovic slip on carbon muffler and I have two questions:

I guess the current OEM muffler gasket will be broken when I will remove the current muffler, should I buy a new one or will be included in the Akra muffler?

I saw in some of your bikes that is possible to install a filler panel that protects the muffler pipes.

Where can I buy one panel that fits the Akrapovic Slip on?

    Many thanks!

I pulled the original gasket out of the OEM exhaust. It's a bit time consuming, and it will not stay new... but it fits like a charm.

A new one doesn't cost the world though.

No gasket required, and your need to shop around for a panel as not many will fit with the carbon slip-on low slung unless your willing to modify it yourself...the Megaphone in the picture will only fit 2014 models onwards and SP, and you still have to modify the Racefit panel to fit...

You can place the clamp around further if you want, just as long as it clears everything and you can still get to it once everything is back in place, it will also move the thread around so it's not picking up water and road muck.. you need to clean both surfaces and make sure you haven't picked up some deposits of road muck, make sure the clamp is we'll nipped up and you should be ok.

    Many thanks Dave.
As always really good help from you!

Do you recommend me to add a bit of silicone gasket?

Your welcome, as long as both surfaces are spotless and it's nice a tight you shouldn't need any sealant, but if you worried about any interface imperfections then it won't hurt to give it a very light smear, just don't use exhaust cement as tends to go off rock hard.

I've used Austin Racing, however I would have chosen the Leo Vince if I'd seen them before I bought the Austin. It's alright but I had to get a mate to make the mounting bracket as with a full system there is no S bend.

I also had to file the Austin one to fit quite a bit to get it to sort of fit..

Nice, but looks like it's arching down...... I wonder where the carbon fibre one in the first post was bought from.....
Was it this item from eBay? 162202683128

Yeah that's the trouble. I will eventually get one. But it's the hassle of getting it resprayed to match.

    £95 on eBay mate
