http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/122385374427?_mwBanner=1 £3500 for a 2012 with 9k miles, maybe too good to be true ;-)
If it sounds to good to be true it usually is! Send adverts like this on autotrader too I would avoid like the plague
scam .....Avoid like the plague. i am constantly reporting items like this to eBay. As Fraz says look at the other listings for a seller .You usually find they are listing caravans, tractors, classic cars etc ... They try to take you away from eBay by asking you to ring them or put a link to an email address to contact them .Then they will ask for you to send them a deposit to hold it for you .Usually via western union or a direct bank transfer so you can come to collect it when you are ready .Yet the item does not exist .They have taken the eBay sellers name and "good" feedback and cloned it. The police do not have anything to do with Ebay fraud ,as they say it is a matter for eBay to sort out ,which they never do because they still make money from the scam listings.
The first line is the give away for me... "If you wish quick response send your message at: [email protected]" Complete pigeon English.
Not only that but it's on sale from someone else for over 7k so this is a fake advert to try and scam some cash, probably a compromised eBay account. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MINT-2012...996840?hash=item41be71b3a8:g:d84AAOSwr~lYqMrX I've just reported the advert to eBay.
ATTENTION !!! SCAM SCAM SCAM I contacted the email and received 2 replies stating the bike was genuine 1x dealer owner and 1 carefull lady owner asked for me to send payment by paypal !?!? and bike would be released after 7 days !?x? Googled the e mail address - well known scammer. Tried to report to ebay but wouldnt work.
I reported the advert first thing this morning, interesting to see if it gets pulled. eBay should take things like this seriously, but I'm doubtful.
I got a 7 day suspension from Ebay last week because I purchased an item from someone locally to me and offered to pay cash. They read all of you messages.
Problem is the buyer could have agreed with you! Pulled the add and then eBay wouldn't have been paid, I understand where you're coming from but better off saying you have questions and offer a phone number with no mention of cash on collection then ask on phone
Fair point mate, lesson learned. I do sell a bit on there myself, the fees are pretty steep but the potential amount of buyers sort of makes it worthwhile.
Ebay updated their terms in the last year to stop them losing revenue over this. So now the seller still gets charged the 10% Final Value Fee if the item is ended early. The only thing you can do to avoid this for sales of Buy It Now's out of ebay would be to let the Ad lapse .
