Just watched this...great summary of all the bikes and i would say that the result was a bit of a surprise! Or is it a marketing thing again? Anyway, i think all bikes are great and if they make you feel happy every time you ride them that would do for me. Stick with what you have and enjoy the ride!!! Happy days... Good video, some great noises on there from all the bikes, pity about the blokes prattling on at the end. Surprising result, not really from MCN, the most expensive ones are the best Anyway they all look good and I'd have them all if I could so as said previously get out and have fun on whatever you've got, ride safe and if you can't then be lucky.
The odd thing about this test and reinforces my opinion that bike testers are biased (possibly financially or jolly holiday wise) is the Ducati getting second. I can understand the Honda as it's in their words the best all rounder but how does the Ducati get second? It's an out an out race bike, I've ridden one and it's like sitting on a tiny clown bike so touring is out, the engine pulls like a train and when you get it over 4000rpm it's a rocket ship but having to feather the clutch at 30 through villages rapidly becomes a pain in the arse. So basically they haven't applied the same criteria to the second bike as they have the first. Best advice, ignore bike tests and go and test them yourself.

wow that gsxr is fast! i was stood on the pit wall watching them come onto the straight at donny last weekend and MD's looks a complete beast... was trying to wheelie the entire straight and straight out of the corner... anti wheelie (assuming) kicking in and hovering the front. was impressive.
It has the fastest standing 1/4 mile, fastest 0-60 and 0-100, fastest top gear roll on and it's the cheapest yet it comes 5th because it feels like the old one! What planet are thes clowns on.
who knows, guess it has to go round corners too.... think the gsxr will be a weapon once the teams get it dialled in. stocker of choice in think in next couple of years me thinks. looks a good package for the money.
Yep, my Blade is paid up in November and I'm seriously looking at either keeping it or going for the bog standard GSX-R, ditch the dustbin on the back and it will more than put a smile on my face, had plenty of them in the past and never had a fault with any.
not always been a fan of ride position and front end feel... which i loved on my yamaha r1 and r6 - and preferred on the blade when I got mine. so will try this one before make judgement. the engines are stonking though!!
In my humble opinion MCN redeemed themselves when - in the 02 November 2016 edition - they declared of the Honda Fireblade 2012-16 "SIMPLY THE BEST - might just be the finest road-going sportsbike ever." It was a large multi page tribute article to the outgoing Fireblade. It also featured a large picture on the front page and - "Special tribute to the ultimate road superbike." I kept the copy - just in case there were any arguments !!

I test rode the GSXR and the new blade back to back, the GSXR is very good and put a proper smile on my face, but the blade is even better, it's feels better quality and handles better, the fuelling on both was silky smooth even riding at 30mph in 6th gear. The GSXR might have more grunt and be quicker on paper, but on the road you won't notice it. Both great bikes, I did prefer the blade but its a close call.
