Not much work on today so a quick raz on the blade had to be had. Now, you should be aware I haven't ridden for 7 years, apart from picking the bike up on 10th Dec in persisting down rain, sleet and snow. It's not too cold here, but on and off fine drizzle. I should have been more aware of the points I have just made, and also the corsas are worn. Getting carried away, 2nd gear gassing out of a bend and the back tyre decided to try and overtake me round the outside. A change of undies, cup o tea and 20 roll ups later i've decided to get some new hoops as a matter of urgency.
My mate's become a fair weather rider off his low speed off, apart from him neat going under a bus pulling in to stop he realised that due to things out of his control he came off so knocking it on the head now. I'd only ride a SM or similar in shitty weather!
Sm?? I'd ride anything... In any conditions... You just have to adapt!! Im a great believer that riding in the wet, will make you faster (and safer) in the dry
ADAPT. Exactly. Used to quite enjoy wet weather riding, was the only way to get the back end moving on a 600. Now I definately know I cant just whack the throttle wide open (in the wet, leant over) on the blade.
I agree but when I hit a patch of oil on a wet day on my boat of a GSXF I thought this ain't fun anymore when I looked left n saw my numberplate I cant believe I stopped on, wouldn't of been as bad on an SM or a like
What's an sm benn?? Oil in dry does the same thing? Had an of in summer on deisel, not fun either Wet riding is tricky, and not enjoyable... But is rewarding in my eyes. When we go touring and you have to ride everyday, it's amazing the gulf between the guys that ride all year and fair weather Riders when it gets damp!! And in my exp... It's the same guys who get quicker and quicker in the dry???
I agree but I ain't wrecking my bikes in shitty weather. An SM is a super moto, designed for getting dirty and riding it a bit loosely!
If you aint been on a bike for a while mate take it easy. It probably only stepped out a couple of centimetres but in crap weather can feel a lot worse. Take it easy
Nah this was ages ago I rode nearly every day from march to October probably, in all weathers, it wasn't only a couple of inches trust me I was literally sideways it was really surreal it was that smothe the way it happened I just shut the throttle off slowly and ended up straight again that's why it caught me off guard it was the weirdest biking moment if my 9 years riding. I think as it was so smooth and gentle I didn't get chance to panic luckily and just kind of relaxed and let the bike take it's self. It wasn't till about 5 seconds later that it hit me I shat myself and pootled all the way to work lol
Jeeps! Be careful!! I struggle riding in the wet, I don't feel as comfortable and am more tentative -which will probably make it worse. I used to ride in all weathers but now i don't have to go out in the rain that's what a car is for! I don't mind riding in the cold as I just stick a few layers on.
lol i did it a couple of months back, scared the crap out of me, you learn not to do it a bit quick....
