    Anyone tried them?

Trying to go down a different route for an air filter, instead of buying the usual K&N item which IMO is kack.

Why? What does it do......or not do? I have always used them without any issue although I have nothing to gauge it against.

I've had one in my GSXR and my SV650 and i wasn't overly impressed with it. The fit was good but if you looked closer at the filter the folds were not all the same size and it needed regular cleaning compared to the stock unit. It didn't flow any more air than the standard filter did.

Don't get my wrong it does have its place as they are fairly cheap, easy to install, doesn't need mapping and you can clean them up and re use them. Great for folk looking for a plug an play item.

I'm just looking for something a bit different that should give me better performance. Although I do accept I will have to get the bike on the Dyno to sort the fuelling out.
