I fancy some carbon fibre heel plates for the bike. Recommendations on supplier please gents. There are some on ebay from nondescript suppliers. Who have you used? update Just found the GBMoto ones. http://www.gbmotoracingparts.com/honda-cbr1000-cbr-1000-rr8-2008-carbon-heel-guards-184-p.asp But the tank covers look good also http://www.gbmotoracingparts.com/ho...rr8-2008910-carbon-side-tank-covers-185-p.asp ....but which is best?.........only one way to find out............
I'm interested to see what others think too. Had some on my R6 but they looked like tattered cardboard within weeks. Maybe it was due to wwaearing armour plated sidi vertigos?
Yeah, thats my concern. I havnt used these before except for the ones that came with my Gilles rearsets on the BUSA. They were very good and didnt mark at all.
Had mine on for a year from gb moto, and use sidis. Mine are still mint. Most of my carbon is from gb moto. The frame covers are ilmberger and the bellypan is from zero limits. Best quality is zero limits, especially for hardness of the lacquer, then gb moto ( not far behind) then ilmberger. Ilmberger are the most expensive for carbon, so paying more doesn't equal better quality.
I had GB Moto heel guards before the S.E.S sets Very good and a uk company so nice to support the local business
i got my carbon fibre heel guards from calsport, they are akrapovic, had a look at calsport website but they seem to have stopped doing them.
Get them mate.. your boots won't do nothing to them . had them on my 600 for 22 thousand miles and looked great .. Nice cheap little upgrade
Depends how you grip your pegs I guess I keep my toes on them so my heel is higher . I had a 600f a while ago and my heels did contact the ally heel guards. And they would make my boots black where they rubbed so it was nice to just stop that happening
