Hi, This might sound daft but I have a 190/50/17 on the rear of my blade can I put 190/55/17 on? Would that be okay? Can anyone recommend A good set of tyres, I have Dunlop qualifier on and I had a blow out over the weekend. Don't fancy them anymore
Metzeler m7rr for road use. 190 55 is recommended by alot on here. I use 55 rear on mine and prefer it.
Some people have issues with a 55 profile rubbing the hugger, depends on which one is fitted, there are threads on here I believe. Just for ref I use the Metz M5, cheaper than the M7rr last a bit longer, I ride a RR5 like I mean it, and have had no major dramas with them
Another vote for M7RR's. I put them one 2 weeks ago and the bike feels transformed from the OE Qualifier 2's.
I've ridden on Metzler M7's, Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3's and now on the new Michelin RS... in order of preference: Pirelli DR3 Michelin RS Metzler M7 The M7's are good but things have come on a bit more now ... after all the M7's are a few years old.
yeahM7rr is still a great all round sportbike tyre, but if you NEVER use in wet or cold and you want loads of grip get the Supercorsa SP or SC (basically a cut slick) for even more grip but takes a little longer to warm up, Dunlop D212pro or racer is the same (used at TT), on track they are AWESOME , on the road too, as long as you give them time to warm up...
Was all set to order a pair of M7's in the next couple of weeks to replace my pilot power 3's, then I saw this post. What do you like about the pirelli's over the michelin's?
The main thing is the carcass shape is predictable compared to the Michelins. Meaning the Michelins drop very quickly on turn in but the pirellis are more progressive... both are very good tyres and better than the M7's.
That's interesting I'll definitely be doing a bit of research on both the pirelli's and michelin's. Are you running 50 or 55 profile? Thanks for your feedback.
if you want fantastic grip and handling go one better than the Diablo Rosso 3 and get for the Pirelli Supercorsa SP, great tyre for dry warm roads Used them all last year on roads and track days, oh and btw get the 55 as better handling and more contact patch on full lean
50 profile. I've tried both and prefer the progressive feel of the 50 profile... but then the bike has had a full suspension refresh so already feels very nimble on its feet.
As previously stated some possible issues with the 55 rubbing the hugger - I also heard that the 55 may affect ABS if fitted
