Buying an SP

I am looking at purchasing a CBR1000RR SP in the near future but am in a quandary over which one to go for.

Nice problem to have, right?

The bikes that I'm looking at are the new 2017 SP and a new (pre-reg) 2016 SP.

Bargains are to be had with the outgoing model as you can buy a new 2016 bike for circa £13000:

A 2017 SP is just over £19,000 so it's ~£6K difference.

Owning the best incarnation of the last of the (mostly) analogue blade appeals to me but owning the newest model with all the bells and whistles also has it's obvious appeal too.

The bike will be used for road and track.

Opinions?

 

I have just gone from older 2014 SP to the new 2017 SP and I have to say the 2017 SP wins hand down for me. Having gone from riding the old straight on to the new I've found a massive difference. The new bike is sharper with better throttle response and better corner plus you've gone the added extra of setting bikes suspension for track use on the dash instead of fiddling around with the allen key adjust rebound and compression. Loved to old SP, looks good, good on road and track but if you want what everyone else has on the track with traction control, adjustable engine power etc etc then the 2017 bike is for you.

Happy to help, doing both road and track helps to but 2017 SP not run in yet so no track experience on this one to offer.

 

just get the new one, if you can afford it, its awesome.
you might regret it if you don't.

 

Just get the new one you won't regret it just feels so small and light like my old vfr 400

 

Like the seat on the old bike who made that ?
