Have just read this over on Facebook SP owners group, see below. "Went to Snetterton today with my new 2017 sp1. Amazing handling and the power delivery was spot on. The only downside was the black flag I received. Exceeding noise levels on track ...wtf..... Standard exhaust in fact standard everything. ... No limits tried to talk race control to let me continue but they said level was to high.. How have Honda put a bike together with track riding in mind that fails noise limits.. Be warned guys n gals if you are planning a track day be aware that the noise levels on drive by are around 98db and the track limit in England is 92" Anyone else had an experience like this with a standard exhaust on?
Do you guys have track limit of only 92?? That is low. Here in Norway the limit is 100 DB. My bike with Yoshimura R77 slipon gets 98DB at the noise test before entering track. We also have one track where there is no noise limit!
92db is the drive-by, the static is 102db mine was tested at 95db static and I did not ping the drive-by test when I was there on the 12th I also have standard everything
Snetterton are harsh with there limits, I got 2 black flags Sunday just gone and sent home, not the new blade but last years 98 static 99 ride by fucking joke there's loads of bikes out there louder than mine Ducati 899 fails static but still allowed out.
it's because of the complaints from the villagers Snetterton was only used 3 days and 1 evening a week, but now with the new circuit its 7 days and 3 evenings so the locals are kicking off a bit
Different limits for different days.... 101 is the usual I think. As said tho, snet are pretty militant these days.
Go to italy, no limit! Its insane they dont even check the bikes. But it must suck that a standard exhaust doesnt pass. I've heard of RSV4s and Panigales having a similar problem in Germany
They only have 98db on road bike only days.. Other than that it should be 105db but as Mark Neate always says, be as load as you want and as Jimbo pointed out, theres a runway next door...
